Public safety

Authorities received a 911 call reporting two men for walking down U.S. Highway 2 on opposite sides of the road. One of them was wearing headphones and dancing, the caller said.

Animal complaint

A pet owner reported that their red husky had escaped from their fenced-in yard on Conifer Road.

An Avenue C resident asked for help in removing a stray cat.

A local medical clinic reported finding a large cat colony near the facility.

Suspicious vehicle

Authorities investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle parked near the 18 mile marker of Fisher River Road.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Sarah Alyea on a possession with intent to sell charge on Missoula Avenue.

Probation, parole violation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jeremiah Steves on a probation violation near U.S. Highway 2.

Public safety

A motorist reported another driver for passing at excessive speed in a no passing zone along U.S. Highway 2. The other vehicle kicked rocks up into the air, which damaged the caller’s windshield, while performing the maneuver.

Probation, parole violation

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested an unidentified individual near Crest Street for a probation violation.

8:58 p.m.

Public assistance

A motorist at a local fast casual restaurant requested a police officer check her windshield wipers. The window was frozen and the wipers not functioning properly, she said. The call was disconnected.

Traffic stop

Libby police officers detained a man and a woman, both unidentified, during a traffic stop near the intersection of 10th Street and Main Avenue. They arrested at least one individual on a parole violation.

Traffic stop

Libby police officers arrested an unidentified individual for driving with a suspended license near the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Dakota Avenue.

Public assistance

Authorities investigated a report of a vehicle having jumped the curb near a local ballpark and causing damage to a fence there.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a possible parole or probation violation near Park Street.

Traffic accident

A motorist reported that another driver intentionally hit their vehicle in the parking lot of a local supermarket.

Public assistance

Authorities investigated an unoccupied vehicle parked near J. Neils Park.

Suspicious activity

Authorities pulled over a motorist after the individual was spotted allegedly driving around with blankets pulled over the windows.

A caller requested a civil standby while they picked up a vehicle on their brother’s property.

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported her sister-in-law harassing her and her husband over property.

Assault

Libby police responded to a report of a man assaulting other passengers on a train, but the depot was vacant when officers arrived. They later learned that the train had left the station and was headed out of the county.

Authorities responded to a report of a bonfire near Pipe Creek.

March 15

5:21 p.m.

Hazmat, environmental

An individual on U.S. Highway 2 near the county shop reported an oil spill of between two and three gallons over the course of a mile. The caller told authorities he planned to clean it up himself.

6:36 p.m.

Public safety

Authorities attempted to track down a female motorist accused of driving under the influence near a local truck stop.

7:16 p.m.

Animal complaint

Libby police investigated a report of a dog left in a cage in the bed of a pickup truck. The caller did not know how long the dog had been there, but reported that it looked “miserable.”

9:03 p.m.

Theft

A caller reported a theft of $9,900 that occurred over the past week.

9:54 p.m.

Disturbance

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a trespasser on Avenue B. The trespasser was attempting to fight the individual who had called 911. When the caller threatened to shoot, the trespasser told him he would be getting his gun.

March 16

Theft

8:24 a.m.

Authorities investigated the alleged theft of fuel from a local truck stop. The fuel was later paid for, officials said.

Suspicious activity

A Mary Lane resident reported that her security system had picked up noise activity overnight.
