Libby infant doing well after receiving new heart

A baby boy from Libby has a new heart and is doing well.
Asher Prosise-Dunham, the son of local residents Jack Prosise and Jetta Dunham, was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect.
After he was born he developed cardiomyopathy of the left ventricle. He received his first open-heart surgery in July to place a ventricular assist device in his heart.
Asher has been at the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah for about three months.
Asher recently received his heart transplant and is doing wonderful, according to friends of the family. They will continue to be in Salt Lake near his medical team for another three to six months.
A fundraiser that was held Sept. 7 to help the family with travel expenses and medical bills raised nearly $38,000.
Organizers said local businesses and individuals stepped up to donate items to the benefit auction, including guns, trips, and tools.
Donations for the “Keep Calm, Transplant On,” at Libby Memorial Center, included 108 silent auction items and 40 live auction items.
Live music was provided by Payton Rae with Cody Lyle, and Jacque Jolene and Pour Decisions.
