Libby native Brian Sharp received a well-deserved hero’s welcome Saturday.

The 33-year-old Army Special Forces Green Beret was wounded in Afghanistan earlier this year when his unit was ambushed. Sharp suffered wounds to his hip and spine, but he has worked himself back to the point where he can walk.

A police escort was provided for Sharp, his wife Amy, daughter Audrey, and grandmother Stella Sharp during the welcome home parade Saturday.

The police escort down Mineral Avenue was followed by a ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial at Riverfront Park and a barbecue.
