Howard Lyle Paullin, 84

Howard Lyle Paullin, 84, of Libby, lost his battle with cancer Oct. 4, 2019.

He was surrounded by family. He was born to Leelland and Buela Paullin of the Kalispell, Mont.

Howard was a very kind and generous man. He was a volunteer for the Libby Volunteer Ambulance Service for many years.

He was very active in the Jaycees, and instrumental in starting Libby Logger Days. He loved to golf, dance, entertain and joke with his many friends and family. He was the type of man that would give you his shirt off his back.

He married Donna Douglas in December 1954. They moved to Libby in 1956, where he lived until eight months ago. He finished his life in Ephrata, Wash., at the home of Jeff and Kimberly Paullin.

He was the youngest of four children: Joyce, Vergil, and Harold.

After losing Donna, Howard later found love again with Roberta Taylor of Libby.

They were very involved in the community, and loved to dance, walk and stay busy. They brought joy to each other.

Howard’s survivors include his sister Joyce, of Kalispell, brother Harold and sister-in-law Barbara, of San Francisco, son Jeffrey Paullin and daughter-in-law Kimberly Paulin of Ephrata, Wash., daughter Julie Paullin of Spokane, Wash. His grandchildren include Cala Wright of LaCrosse, Wash., Nathan Wilson of Portland, Ore., Mckenzie Paullin of Ephrata, Wash., and great-granddaughter Braelynn Wright of LaCross, Wash.

He also is survived by his companion and friend Roberta Taylor of Libby as well as many friends and members of his extended family.
