Daniel Joseph Mueller passed away Sept. 2, 2019.

He was born June 6, 1942, in Billings, to Joe and Virginia (Kennedy) Mueller.

He attended Billings Central Catholic High School and later Carroll College in Helena.

He earned a master’s degree in education and teaching at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.

His teaching career began in Billings and Forsyth.

He accepted a teaching job in Libby in 1968 and, for the next 35 years, taught generations of students.

Following his retirement in 2003, Dan pursued his hobbies of making stained glass, tending his greenhouse solarium and reading.

Dan made Libby his home until he moved to Billings in 2017.

Dan lived a life built on faith and compassion, serving as Eucharistic Minister and Liturgist at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libby, as Exalted Ruler of Libby Elks Lodge #2231 and Grand Knight of the Libby Knights of Columbus Council 3250.

Dan is survived by siblings Diann (Mick Wolff), Kathy, Don (Sue Anderson), John (Sue Agnew) of Billings, and T.J. of Huntley; many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and his many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Virginia Mueller.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Drive, Billings.
