The National Rural Accountable Care Consortium has recognized Cabinet Peaks Clinic Family Medicine as an exemplary practice, officials announced last month.

The Libby-based practice earned the accolade by meeting consortium standards in boosting its quality improvement efforts, broadening behavioral health access and creating a patient portal, among other innovations.

Under the auspices of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the consortium is charged with highlighting top performing practices, like the Libby clinic, nationwide, officials said.

“We are focused on providing the right care, at the right time to improve patient outcomes, decrease unnecessary testing, reduce unnecessary hospital readmissions and assist in controlling the overall cost of healthcare,” said Catherine McDonald, practice administrator for Cabinet Peaks Clinic.
