Lady Trojans finish regular season

The Lady Trojans fell in three games in a matchup against the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks on Thursday, Oct. 24: 15-25, 17-25, 11-25. It was also senior night for the Lady Trojans.

Head coach Jordan Graves said she is proud of the attitude, motivation and sportsmanship her team has.

“Our seniors have done a great job leading the rest of the team and setting a great example for them,” she said. “I think the younger girls, especially the freshman, have appreciated what the seniors have done for them.”

Senior Oliva Ramirez brought the heat with three of the five aces for Troy. The Trojans had nine kills; Ella Pierce contributed four of those. Talise Becquart had the only two blocks for the Trojans. With two assists a piece, Katelynn Tallmadge and Leah Clay led the team in assists.

The Trojans had 30 digs for the night; Mazzy Hermes led with eight.

The Lady Trojans had a play-in game against Bigfork in Troy on Tuesday, but fell in three close games: 26-28, 21-25, 20-25.

Elaine Folkherts was on fire with three of the total nine aces for the Trojans. Pierce was relentless at the net with seven blocks. Becquart contributed seven of the 19 kills for the match.

With the play-in loss, the Lady Trojan’s closed their 2019 season.

Graves is sad to be done with the season, but is looking forward to next year and plans on working in the off-season “to build a better program and to improve overall.”
