LVA recognizes decades of volunteer service

Libby Volunteer Ambulance members held a banquet to recognize the years, and for some, decades, of volunteer time served in Lincoln County, Saturday at the LVA ambulance barn in Libby.
Jeff Holder, LVA president, led the award ceremony by giving plaques, pins and speeches to attendees.
Volunteers brought family members to share a dinner while surrounded by ambulances and illuminated by candles.
Holder thanked the support of husbands, wives, sons and daughters. “To the family member’s that aren’t the members,” he said during a speech.
Holder gave the “call hog” award to Vincent Brown, who earned it for taking 308 ambulance calls in the past year, the most out of any volunteer. Brown is the defending champion of the award, he said.
LVA members cheered for Dick Buti’s 39-year award and stood for Craig Schultz hitting his 35-year mark.
