The Libby Loggers American Legion Baseball team had a solid 15-2 win against the Clark Fork Cougs during Community Appreciation Night at Lee Gehring Memorial Field on Wednesday.

Libby’s Tripp Zhang led the way in RBIs for the Loggers, sending four runners home throughout the night.

Zhang drove in his first two runs with a triple in the first, hitting a fly to center field to bring in Caden Williams and Jeff Offenbecher.

Donovan Fornall followed with a double off a fly ball to right field to send Zhang home.

Moxley Roesler-Begalke drove in the final Logger run of the inning with a sacrifice grounder that brought in Quade Anderson.

Just like the top of the first, the Cougs went three up, three down, in the top of the second.

The Loggers had their highest-scoring inning in the bottom of the second though. Williams started things off with a line drive single to bring Offenbecher Home, giving Libby a 5-0 lead.

Two batters later, Anderson hit a double on a hard grounder past shortstop, sending Williams home.

Libby seemed unstoppable. Zhang scored on a dropped ball, and Fornall followed with a single off a grounder to shortstop, driving in Anderson. Trey Thompson followed with a double off a fly to right field, sending Fornall home.

Thompson scored the final Libby run of the inning, after Alex Svendsbye hit a single with a fly ball to center field.

The Cougs couldn’t get a hit in the top of the third, but managed to hold the Loggers back in the bottom of the inning, making the third Libby’s only scoreless inning.

The Cougs’ Jordan Fisher was the first Clark Fork hit in the top of the fourth, sending a grounder to third base for a single, but Fisher was out on the next play to a fielder’s choice, and the Cougs made no more progress.

In the bottom of the inning, Roesler-Begalke made it home safe on a fielder’s choice, advancing to third and scoring on the throw.

Zhang came to bat shortly after, making his other two RBIs with a double on a fly to right field, driving in Svendsbye and Offenbecher.

The top of the fifth, Clark Fork reached first on an error, but a double play on a grounder to Offenbecher at shortstop had Svendsbye at second and Aydan Williamson at first clearing the bases of Cougs. The half inning ended with a fly out to Svendsbye.

Williamson made it home on a walk in the bottom of the fifth, followed by Tucker Masters on another walk, giving the Loggers their final run of the night and a 15-0 lead over the Cougs.

The top of the sixth saw Clark Fork’s first -- and only -- runs of the game. AJ Jermyn drove in Esvin Reyes with a grounder to right field and Jordan Fisher stole his way home on a strike.

The Loggers play their next game at Glacier on Monday at 5 p.m. Their next home game is Thursday, when they will host the Glacier Twins at Lee Gehring Memorial Field.
