Logger fans raise almost $3,000 for Lauer family

The Libby Loggers American Legion Baseball team had a successful Community Appreciation Night, with what was noted as one of the biggest crowds at Lee Gehring Memorial Field in over a decade.
In addition to cheering on the Loggers in their 15-2 win over the Clark Fork Cougs, the fans also raised almost $3,000 for Tracy Lauer.
“The Lauer family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to all of you,” read the Logger’s Facebook the next day. “Loggertown, USA never ceases to amaze us.”
Jason Harrington and Mandi Foss donated back their 50/50 winnings, adding $330 to the money raised.
Lauer told the fans at the field that night she is battling a recurrence of her uterine cancer.
She has been going to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Arizona, she said. “I have an amazing team of people over there taking care of me.”
She said that her cancer has been shrinking and responding well to the chemo.
“So, we’re just going to praise Jesus, that he is taking care of things, and I am just so happy that I have such an amazing group of people,” she said.
Lauer expressed gratitude for her coworkers, family and friends.
“I just have an amazing team of people on my side, and with that, that’s why I can survive this,” she said.
