Gloria Jean Meyer, 83, of Troy, and most recently of Chico, California, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2019.

Jean was born in Troy on Feb. 18, 1935, to Joseph and Clara Collogan. She attended school in Troy and was proud to finish her education when she obtained her G.E.D. at the young age of 54. Jean married Albert Meyer on Sept. 29, 1951, and they were together for 34 years before Albert’s death in 1985.

Jean and Albert lived in Troy their entire life while raising four children. Following Albert’s passing in 1985, Jean remained in Troy and spent much of her time providing daycare and later volunteering at the Senior Citizen Center. During this time, Jean developed many fond memories and relationships with those around her. Jean loved taking walks, road trips, crossword puzzles, playing cards and baking cookies for her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

Jean is survived by daughter, Alberta (Jim) Mudd of Chico, California; sons Neil (Julie) Meyer of Miles City, Montana, Bob (April) Meyer of Belgrade, Montana, and Steve (Sandi) Meyer of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother Joe (Kay) Collogan of Post Falls, Idaho. Also, Jean was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Clara Collogan, husband Albert Meyer, half-sisters Babe and Jodie, and grandsons Shawn and Dustin Bealer.

A celebration of life for Jean will be held in Troy and announced at a later date.
