The first annual Cabin Fever Fest, held at the Libby Memorial Events Center on Saturday, Feb. 2, raised $3,800 for the Center for Asbestos Related Diseases Foundation.

This was their first winter concert fundraising event, and featured the Idaho-based cover band, Jam Shack, playing hits from multiple genres. Admission was only $10, and 30 donated baskets were raffled off throughout the night, according to a press release from the CARD Foundation.

A dance competition, won by Kenny Rayome, and the announcement of this year’s Big Sky Bash headliner, Great White, were highlights of the evening.

Money raised at the CARD Foundation’s Cabin Fever Fest will help pay for a new parking lot at the CARD Clinic. The clinic’s current parking lot is dangerously sloped and unsafe for patients during wet and winter weather, especially those with limited mobility.

The CARD Foundation also received a grant from the Lincoln County Community Foundation last fall which will help with the installation of a new automatic door opener for the clinic.

The handicapped-accessible door project is fully funded, thanks to the generosity of donors, and funding for the parking lot is ongoing. It is anticipated that work on the new safety-related upgrades at the CARD Clinic will begin this spring or summer.

The CARD Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the growth of the CARD Clinic through fundraising.

According to the release, Donna Williams, CARD Foundation’s Director, said “We would like to thank the community for their continued support and thank our volunteer community-based board for all of their hard work.”

Williams also thanked board member Jamie Rosling specifically, for coordinating all of the raffle baskets.

The next CARD Foundation event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13. Their ninth-annual Big Sky Bash will feature the classic rock band, Great White.

Big Sky Bash tickets will be on sale starting March 15th. Contact the CARD Foundation at 293-9274 ext. 132 or visit their website at donatecardfoundation.org for more information.
