Dec. 20

7:20 a.m.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies, Troy emergency responders and Montana Highway Patrol responded to a traffic accident near mile marker 22 of U.S. Highway 2. The vehicle had gone off the road and took out several trees, officials said.

Criminal trespass

Authorities responded to a trespass call on Butcher Creek Road.

10:48 a.m.

Fish and game

A U.S. Highway 2 resident reported that two German shepherds had chased a fawn into his yard, killed it and began eating the carcass. He later called back and said the pair of hounds had left the fawn and headed to a neighbor’s yard where they were attempting to kill their fowl.

11:25 a.m.

Suspicious activity

A Three Corners Road resident reported finding footprints leading up onto her porch. She believes they belong to a neighbor. Investigators determined the footprints did not come from her neighbor.

Criminal trespass

Authorities responded to a report of trespassing on Butcher Creek Road.

Traffic accident

Authorities responded to a report of a vehicle sliding off of U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 71.

Animal complaint

A Three Corners Trailer Court resident asked for animal control’s help in catching her brown and white pit bull and boxer mix.

12:47 p.m.

Theft

A Rustic Road resident reported her brother’s ex-fiancé had stolen his black mastiff mix. The caller said the dog is technically hers, as she has the dog’s veterinarian bills in her possession.

2:35 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A caller reported a car parked with its lights on across from the Kootenai Falls on U.S. Highway 2. The vehicle had been there for a long period of time. The motorist told Montana Highway Patrol that she was just thinking for a bit, but agreed to move her car into the parking lot.

2:42 p.m.

Suspicious vehicle

A Michelle Lane resident reported a suspicious vehicle in her driveway and wanted the Libby Police Department to remove it. Authorities told her she could have a tow truck take it away.

3:01 p.m.

Warrant

Authorities arrested Scott Morgan Kair on multiple charges, including failure to appear in court, on Paul Bunyan Lane.

3:56 p.m.

Warrant

Montana Highway Patrol arrested Kaleb Rhema Taylor of Eureka on a warrant near mile marker 55 of state Highway 37.

6:31 p.m.

Public assistance

First responders arrived at Treasure Manor after receiving a report of a man falling in a parking lot.

7:09 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

Authorities investigated a report of minors on Dakota Avenue receiving suggestive texts and other messages via the Internet from an older man.

Public assistance

A caller reported her daughter had received text messages from a friend suggesting the threat of self-harm.

Disturbance

Authorities responded to a Farm to Market Road home after a caller reported that a man hit him with a pole after getting upset about a dog caught in a chair.

Public assistance

Authorities performed a wellness check on a woman at a Mineral Avenue home after her fiancé told police she was being held there by her cousin.

Public assistance

Montana Highway Patrol warned several patrons of a local drinking establishment against driving.

A caller at the Amtrak Station in Libby asked police to open the building’s doors as the train was three hours late.

Animal complaint

A Three Corners Road resident reported two dogs running loose in the neighborhood.

Authorities investigated a report of possible poaching near the airport.

10:32 a.m.

Scam

A Park Street resident reported a scam and said she did provide information to a man claiming to be an authority figure.

Theft

A caller reported a theft from a local supermarket the day prior. The caller believed the suspect was a Troy resident.

Traffic accident

Montana Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle that slid off of Pipe Creek Road near mile marker 24.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Mineral Avenue resident reported his ex-girlfriend and another man were threatening to shoot him via text message.

8:09 p.m.

Warrant

Authorities in Troy arrested Clay Myers, 53, for an outstanding warrant at a local gas station.

8:47 p.m.

Fire

First responders headed to the scene of a possible house fire near mile marker two of Five Mile Creek Road. By the time they arrived, a neighbor had knocked down the fire, but the home was still smoking.

10:15 p.m.

Suspicious person

A Farm To Market Road resident reported hearing an individual by his vehicle. The unidentified person took off on foot.

Libby police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle near the city’s cemetery.

Authorities responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at Avenue B in Libby.
