2:17 a.m.

Fire

Authorities received a report of a timber fire near mile marker 62 of U.S. Highway 2. Officials confirmed it was a slash pile soon after.

6:53 a.m.

Fish and Game

Authorities received a report of a dead deer on Parmenter Avenue. Road crews moved the carcass off the street.

8:51 a.m.

Public safety

A local merchant asked authorities to conduct a wellness check on one of the company’s clients. The merchant said the customer put a deposit on an item in May, but has not been heard from since. Sheriff’s deputies later tracked the man down. He has since been back in contact with the merchant.

10:11 a.m.

Property

A man reported losing a 1 karat gold banded ring while running errands around Libby on Nov. 26. He thought it might have slipped off. He told authorities he planned to check with local pawn shops as well.

11:31 a.m.

Criminal mischief

A motel employee reported property damage to a room a man stayed in for about 30 days.

12:12 p.m.

Fish and Game

A hunter asked to speak with an official regarding individuals he claimed were shooting rifles near him. The man was bow hunting at the time. He said it had happened twice in two weeks.

1:28 p.m.

Harassment, threat, intimidation

A Pinewood Lane resident reported that his ex-wife was harassing him. She is threatening to meet with his new girlfriend, he told authorities.

2:57 p.m.

Property

Two minors found an identification card at Central High School and turned it in to authorities.

3:34 p.m.

Animal complaint

Troy dispatch reported a case of animal cruelty on Yaak River Road. Authorities were told that a resident there has four coonhounds, one of which froze to death outside.
