Libby, Troy receive high marks at District Music Festival

The Libby and Troy high school bands and choirs attended the District Music Festival competition in Kalispell April 5 through 6, returning with quite a few high marks for their performances.

Troy

The Troy High School band had an overall Excellent rating and a Superior for sight reading (2, 2, 2, SR - 1).

The Troy High School choir had an overall Excellent and a Superior for sight reading (2, 2, 2, SR - 2).

Instrumental Solos

The Libby High School concert band received Superior (I), Excellent (II), Excellent (II) from their three judges.

The Libby High School band also attended the Heritage Music Festival in Seattle in March.

Libby band director Matt Krantz said by email that they competed in an event with 20 bands. They received a gold rating β€” the highest rating β€” and took first place in their division.

β€œThe kids worked really hard on this!” Krantz said.
