In response to the editor's apology

I’m so sorry this misprint “induct-vs-indict” happened for all concerned. But, your apology from the editor was truly a beautiful example of making an “amends” that stands for all to see.

My husband H and I teach a class called “Amends” that Holly Burke (a new Libby resident) and I created in Phoenix years ago. We were juvenile probation officers back then and the juvenile court ordered the class for offenders and do still to this day.

It teaches one how to make a “good” apology. Rarely do we ever see these in our culture. In fact, today in our class, we teach “the top 10 worst apologies. Yours had nothing of the kind in it, I’m happy to say.

I’m moved by your words and am grateful for them. I hope that even as bad as it was, that one day you will be able to look back and put it in perspective, maybe even chuckle. (I know, I know.. not yet!) Still, a good comes from every bad... and a great good came from this.

Your character counts in this community and you can be proud of that. No one will be as hard on you here as you have been on yourself. So stand tall and know you, a fellow, fallible human being, are admired and respected!
