The Eureka Community Players will be putting on the play Peril at Pumpernickle Pass, by Tim Kelly, during Eureka’s Rendezvous Days.

According to the release from the players, “It is 1890 in the ‘bustling’ town of Pumpernickle Pass, California (Population: 8 — if you count the horses). Our heroine, Buttercup O’Shay, runs her store and dotes on her beloved betrothed, Sheriff Siegfried. But, there’s a weasel on the way — Waldo Weasel. He’s swooping into town with the goal to make money, whatever it takes. Boo! Hiss!”

“Come ready to cheer, boo, hiss, and have (almost) as much fun as the actors on stage,” the release encourages. “Will Buttercup triumph? Will Waldo Weasel strike it big? Will there be a happily-ever-after in Pumpernickle Pass? Only one way to find out.”

The play is being produced by Jeremy Cook. There will be a reduced-price preview at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, when tickets will be $5. All other shows are $8. Additional performances will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. There will also be a 3 p.m. performance on Sunday, April 28. All performances are at the Old Community Hall — the LodgeCraft Building above the Town Pump — in Eureka.
