A Texas-based quilter, designer and teacher who sells her patterns worldwide is coming to lecture in Libby.

Debbie Maddy will give the lecture and hold a trunk show 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Libby VFW Post No. 1548. Maddy will discuss her ”No Diamonds/No “Y” Seams” quilting method, among other items.

The Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild and Troy Tender Lovin’ Quilters are hosting the event. The public is welcome to attend; admission is $5 for non-guild members.

Maddy runs Calico Carriage Quilt Designs, has appeared on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson for HGTV, and was twice nominated for Teacher of the Year by the International Association of Professional Crafters.

In addition to the public lecture, Maddy will hold workshops on Saturday and Sunday for members of the Libby and Troy guilds.
