The application deadline for next summer’s Habitat for Humanity home has been extended from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15.

Kootenai Valley Partners, the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, has been seeking families to apply for the house. A family will be chosen during the winter.

To be eligible, a family must need decent housing, be able to pay the no-interest mortgage and be willing to put “sweat-equity” into the project, which includes labor and attending training on financial literacy, buying a home and being a home owner.

Applications can be mailed to: KVP/HFH, PO Box 19, Libby, MT 59923.

For more information, call Robert Reeves (406-291-9178) or Stephanie Dill (406-270-1984) in Libby, or Elaine Hammer (406-295-4712) or Chris Reichert (406-291-8324) in Troy.
