Holden Cooper releases balloons during the dedication of a playground to his mother, Laura Cooper, at W.F. Morrison Elementary in Troy Friday. An educator at the school, Cooper was killed March 14, 2017, in a two-vehicle collision caused by the other driver, Richard Gene Davidson of Libby. Later that month Troy Public Schools decided to dedicate playground renovations to her. Davidson was sentenced Jan. 5, 2018, to 20 years for vehicular homicide under the influence.
