The Libby Loggers are looking for assistance with the Western A Divisional Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 22, and helpers do not need to know anything about golf.

Libby High School golf Coach Dan Rohrer said that the choice to hold the tournament in Libby at Cabinet View Golf Club an honor.

“The coaches and other schools changed the rotation just for us to host,” he said by email.

The school needs counters for each group in the competition.

Counters do not do anything more than count, and do not have to be familiar with the rules of the game, Rohrer said. They can ride in their own cart or club cart, or walk with the a group while keeping the running score.

Players keep their own score as well, he said. Counters help to keep track and verify the score after each hole.

“Please consider volunteering to help us out and use this as an opportunity to showcase our course, town, and who we are,” Rohrer said.

In addition, Rohrer said they need spotters.

The competition begins at 10 a.m. and expected to last about 5 hours.

Those interested in helping can reach out to the CVGC clubhouse at 406-293-7332.
