Four Libby High School seniors are participating in the eighth semester of the Medical Mentorship Program at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center.

Sophie Lee and Linsey Walker will serve in nursing, Madison Snyder in imaging and Cort Stern in the laboratory, states a news release.

The mentorship lasts for 18 weeks, during which each senior will spend two class periods per day at the medical center to earn a course credit and gain real-world experience in the health care field.

According to the news release, “[The] students will be evaluated on a list of qualities that are important for anyone who wants to succeed in the workplace such as organization, flexibility, attitude, following directions and the importance of punctuality in the workplace.”

More than 30 local seniors have participated in the program, which requires students to submit an application and go through a formal interview process.
