Logger XC excels at Mountain West Classic

The Libby Cross Country team ran at the Mountain West Classic at the University of Montana in Missoula Saturday.

Freshman Lucky Martin set a new personal record, taking an additional second off his previous best time from the September 20 Thompson Falls Invitational.

Sophomore Rhiannon Wilson, who ran her third cross country event of the season Saturday, set a new personal record with a 31:03.9, only seconds short of a three minute improvement over her Whitefish time.

Sophomore Sally Weber also continues to see dramatic progress in her times, setting a new personal record at Missoula with a 31:01.5, almost three minutes faster than her previous personal best at Whitefish last Monday.

Junior Freddy Moore took almost a full minute off his most recent 5k time a week ago at the Whitefish Invitational, setting a season record at the classic with a 24:39.1, an improvement of over two minutes since the start of the season.

Senior Mikalyn Zeiler also set a season record, dropping just under a minute from her previous season best from Thompson Falls.

Sophomore Savanna Sanderson also set a season record at Missoula, dropping 24 seconds from her previous best time for the season.

The Libby cross country team will run next in Eureka on Thursday, starting at 3 p.m.
