Donald Gene DuBry

| November 16, 2018 3:00 AM

Donald Gene DuBry passed away on Oct. 23, 2018, with his wife (Becky) of 37 years by his side at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. His passing followed a massive heart attack he suffered on Oct. 21 in Libby.

“Donnie,” as most knew him, was born on May 3, 1961 in Powell, Wyoming to Lloyde and Karen. Raised mostly in Hudson, Wyoming, Donnie was well liked by everyone who knew him.

On March 21, 1981 Donnie married Becky Ramsey in Lander, Wyoming. In turn, he became “Daddy” to Becky’s daughter Trina. Donnie and Becky would go on to have two more daughters: Chloe (Clarinda) and Tabitha. Donnie raised his daughters in Riverton and Lander, Wyoming most of their lives. He deeply loved them as well as the nine grandchildren they blessed him with. The entire family decided to relocate to Libby in 2012.

Donnie was constantly there for others — teaching young people about pedigreed rabbits in 4-H and ARBA, working with the physically and mentally handicapped at W.S.T.S and C.E.S (where he enjoyed the individuals he worked with), as well as working at NAPA and Gabel Theaters.

Donnie is survived by his wife Becky; daughters Chloe DuBry and Tabitha (Robert) Viergutz; grandchildren Cordelle, Machenna, Kawlie and Guage Slinkard, Falica DuBry and Traison DuBry-Bush, and Shaelyne, Reed and Raecyn Viergutz; stepfather Burl Nichols; sisters Kathy (Ed) Garner, Carrie (Jeff) Howe and Jodi (Steven) Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyde S. DuBry Sr.; his mother, Karen Nichols; and his daughter, Trina Slinkard.

Cremation has taken place per Donnie’s wishes. A memorial will be held at the Libby VFW from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2018.

There will be a memorial held in Lander, Wyoming in the spring of 2019.
