Habitat for Humanity to raise funds at Rosauers
To raise funds, Kootenai Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity volunteers will bag groceries at Rosauers Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and Nov. 16. Shoppers are encouraged to add a donation to their grocery bill.
“Our goal is to eliminate poverty housing one family at a time by building simple, affordable homes with families who would not otherwise qualify for a conventional home loan,” states Board Member Susie Rice in a news release. “They invest ‘sweat equity’ building their house, and pay interest-free mortgages that help them achieve financial stability. Our homes are a hand up, not a handout.”
All proceeds will remain in south Lincoln County.
Since 1996 the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity has built 12 homes. The Family Selection Committee is currently selecting the next homeowner from recently submitted applications. Construction of the next home begins in April and is expected to be completed in August.
