Deadline to apply for Deer B, Elk B, Antelope and Antelope B is June 1
Don’t forget – the deadline to apply for Resident and Nonresident Deer B, Elk B, Antelope and Antelope B licenses is Friday, June 1.
Residents and nonresidents can participate in the bonus point system to increase their chances of success in the drawing. Bonus points are $2 per species for residents and $20 per species for nonresidents.
Sportsmen and women must have a 2018 conservation and base hunting license as a prerequisite to apply. Applications may be applied for online at fwp.mt.gov, any FWP office or by mail, your applications must be postmarked on or before June 1.
2018 SuperTag chances are on sale now
Montana’s SuperTag chances for the hunt of a lifetime are on sale.
Hunters can win the SuperTag drawing by purchasing one or more $5 SuperTag chances for the fall 2018 hunting season.
Eight SuperTag hunt licenses are offered—moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, elk, deer, antelope, mountain lion and bison. Winners may hunt any district open to the species for which they won a tag.
SuperTags are available at all FWP offices, license providers, or online at fwp.mt.gov. Click “Montana’s SuperTag.” SuperTags can be purchased using FWP’s online licensing service. A 2018 conservation license is needed to purchase a SuperTag. The deadline to purchase SuperTags is June 28.
Proceeds from SuperTag sales go to enhance hunting access and enforcement.
Future Fisheries Program grant deadline May 31
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks reminds landowners, watershed groups and others that this summer’s deadline to apply for Future Fisheries Improvement Program grants is May 31.
The goal of FWP’s Future Fisheries Program is to restore rivers, streams and lakes to improve Montana’s wild fish habitat. Entities can receive funding for qualifying projects that benefit Montana’s wild fish. Each project is assessed by an independent review panel and final funding decisions are made by the Fish and Wildlife Commission.

FWP seeking Future Fisheries high school student for citizen review panel
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking a current high school student to fill a two-year term on the Future Fisheries Citizen Review Panel.
FWP’s Future Fisheries Improvement Program grants approximately $650,000 annually for projects to improve and restore Montana’s wild fish habitats. The 14-member panel meets twice a year to review proposals and recommend projects to the Fish and Wildlife Commission for funding.
Review panel members are appointed by the Governor, or his representative, and must represent a variety of interests including: conservation districts; commercial agriculture; irrigated agriculture; silviculture; fisheries restoration; Montana anglers; members of the Montana House of Representatives and Senate; high school students; mining reclamation; fisheries; and one ex-officio member from the Montana Department of Transportation.
The commitment includes bi-annual proposal review and meeting attendance in mid-June and mid-December. This is a volunteer position but travel and per diem is provided.
