Ronnie Dean Brown

Ronnie Dean Brown, age 70, died May 5, 2018 under hospice care at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. Ron was born Feb. 27, 1948 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, to James A. Brown and Virgie C. Brown. He grew up in northern California, and soon after high school graduation was drafted into the U. S. Army. During his time in the Army, he served a year in Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart. After his military obligation, he settled in northeast Texas, where he had a successful State Farm Insurance Agency in Texarkana, Texas. His college education was obtained from Texarkana College in Texas.

In 1988 Ron decided to relocate and took vacation time to travel around Alaska and northern Montana. He found Troy to be what he was looking for, and moved there in 1988. Later he relocated to a home in Yaak, where he resided until his death.

Ron was predeceased by his father, James A. Brown, his mother, Virgie C. Brown, and his younger sister, Carolyn Sue Brown. He is survived by his sister, Norma Norris, and her husband, Robert (Bob) Norris, of Monroe, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be held May 20, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Yaak Community Church.

Ron held his friendships dear to his heart. He loved animals, working with leather, woodworking, and hunting elk, moose and deer.
