Troy High School’s track and field team placed in events at Eureka last Tuesday and at Whitefish on Saturday, with multiple personal records at the latter.

At the Eureka ABC Top 8 Tuesday, junior Hunter Leighty placed in all three of his running events — the 200m and 400m dash and the 800m run — taking second place in the 400m dash with 53.14 seconds.

Sophomore Ella Pierce continued to make personal records at the Whitefish ARM Invitational while competing in the junior varsity class. Pierce took first in the junior varsity 100m hurdles in 18.78 seconds and placed first in the high jump with 4 feet, 8 inches. Both were personal records for Pierce.

Though no other of Pierce’s teammates placed as high, the team showed general improvement at Whitefish, with personal records for junior Michael Beers, sophomore Brodie Gravier, junior Tyler Gromley, senior Royal Johnson and freshman Liz Morkeberg.
