Foresters to host talk from Rep. Cuffe

The Society of American Foresters will host a presentation by State Rep. Mike Cuffe on environmental and fiscal issues, Thursday, March 22 at 7 p.m. at the Venture Inn.

Cuffe will speak about the Columbia River Treaty and the fiscal impacts on Lincoln County from land loss associated with the Libby Dam, according to an SAF press release.

He will also speak about concerns over selenium and concerns over contamination of the Elk River and other waterways associated with mining operations in British Columbia.

The press release states that the event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social, followed by dinner, with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Dinner is not provided, but can be ordered off the menu.
