A West Kootenai couple were arraigned separately in Montana 19th Judicial District Court March 12 on multiple charges stemming from ongoing conflicts with neighbors.

Anthony Moore plead not guilty to three felony charges — criminal endangerment, burglary and theft — and four misdemeanor charges including criminal mischief, stalking and criminal trespass.

Cheryl Moore plead not guilty to two felony charges — burglary and theft — and three misdemeanor charges for criminal mischief, stalking and criminal trespass.

Anthony Moore faces the criminal endangerment charge for firing multiple gun shots in the direction of neighbors’ homes.

The theft charges for both individuals stem from taking $2,600 in payment from Wendy Belcher and failing to either complete the work or return the funds.

Both individuals are charged with criminal trespass onto Gideon Yutzy’s property on Nov. 10. Both are also charged with stalking for allegedly harassing and intimidating Donna Roberts between Nov. 30 and Feb. 15.

The complaint alleges that the couple yelled that Roberts was a witch and needed to die when she would drive home from work. It is also alleged they would “patrol” the property line they shared with Roberts yelling “die, die, die...fire, fire, fire.”

In addition, it is alleged they shot dead their own dog and dragged the carcass into the driveway they share with Roberts.

Anthony Moore is charged with an additional alleged trespass onto the Roberts property.

According to an affidavit from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Bo Pitman, the first complaint against the Moore’s was Nov. 10, when they allegedly drove into a neighbor’s driveway and begin yelling. The neighbor, Yutzy, told the responding deputy that the Moores believe they are prophets.

A warning related to the incident was issued to the Moores on Nov. 17.

On Nov. 30, the Moores are alleged to have entered the house of Wendy Belcher without her permission. She had hired them to help her move, but they allegedly showed up at the residence asking where her Ouija board was and alleging that she was using it against them.

The Moores allegedly removed the board from Belcher’s car after bullying her in her house. The affidavit states that they set the board in the driveway, poured gasoline on it and ignited it.

The Moores are alleged to have never returned the $2,600 Belcher paid them to help her move, nor to have completed in assisting with her move.

On Jan. 6, the affidavit alleges that the Moores shot their dog in the head, loaded it into a sled, and dumped it into the driveway they shared with Tim and Donna Roberts. This was the same time when they are alleged to have started harassing Donna Roberts.

In addition to the threats, yelling and shooting into the air, according to the affidavit Anthony Moore began blowing a horn after firing. Both individuals began wearing hats made of foil and covered the windows of their home with foil. Neighbors alleged that they also wrapped foil around their dogs.

On Jan. 25, Pitman responded to a call regarding neighbors believing that Anthony Moore was now shooting toward their homes on Deer Path Lane.

On Jan. 26, Pitman’s affidavit alleges that Anthony Moore left his residence around 4 a.m. and drove without any lights on to the Roberts house, parking next to their front door, setting off an alarm that woke Tim Roberts.

Roberts told law enforcement that he walked out on his porch and saw Moore sitting in his truck staring at Roberts. Roberts retrieved his gun from inside the house and returned to the porch, yelling at Moore to leave, after which Moore drove away.

Over the following weeks, Pitman noted multiple calls from neighbors regarding the Roberts yelling “Fire, fire, fire… die, die, die”, wearing foil hats, firing guns, shining lights and lasers and blowing a horn.
