Candidates file for primary

A number of candidates have filed for the 2018 primary election in Lincoln County, including a handful who filed unopposed.

The candidates are:

County Commissioner District 3 (6-year term): Mike Cole (incumbent) (Rep.), Josh Letcher (Rep.)

Clerk and Recorder (4-year Term): Robin A. Benson (incumbent) (Rep.)

Sheriff (4-year Term): Roby Bowe (incumbent) (Rep.), Darren Short (Rep.)

Coroner (4-Year Term): Steven Schnackenberg (incumbent) (Rep.)

County Attorney (4-Year Term): Marcia Boris (incumbent) (Rep.)

Treasurer and Superintendent of Schools (4-Year Term): Sedaris Carlberg (Rep.)

Justice of the Peace (4-Year Term, Non-Partisan): Jay Sheffield (incumbent)

Conservation District Supervisor (4-Year Term, Non-Partisan): Mark Romey, Thomas Maffei, Wayne Maahs, Laura Garner

The deadline for write-in candidates is 5 p.m. April 27.
