Roger L. Robertson
Roger L. Robertson, 88, of Libby, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 of asbestos-related disease. He was born Nov. 23, 1929 in Glidden, Wisconsin to Lyle and Nora (Straetz) Robertson. He attended schools in Boyd, Wisconsin and Newald, Wisconsin and graduated from Laona, Wisconsin High School in 1947. Following high school, Roger joined the United States Air Force and served for five years, half that time in Japan. On May 16, 1953 he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Raasch, and they enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage.
Roger started his working career at the ripe young age of 13 working at neighboring dairy farms milking and tending to the cows. After he was discharged from the USAF he was employed at the Connor Company Mill in Laona. In 1954 he and Mary moved to Libby where he spent many years at the companies of J. Neils, St. Regis and Champion Lumber and retired as superintendent of the stud mill at 57. He made a lot of life-long friends due to his gift of gab and outgoing personality. Roger faithfully served as a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and was a life member of the VFW and benefactor life member of the National Rifle Association.
Roger loved to fish and hunt. You’d think he “owned” the Yaak — which he called “God’s Country” — with as much time as he spent there while still maintaining marital bliss.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Terry and Skip; and his granddaughter, Darah.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Libby; his children — Mike of Libby, Jeff (Kayley, kids Jeremy, Jill, Courtney, Shelby, Taylor and Nic) of Libby, Barb (Mike Grantham, kids Derrick, Tiffany and Tracy Booth) of Winnemucca, Nevada, Sue (Kirby, kids Korey and Alex) Kulbeck of Libby, David (Gwen, kids Tommy, Jake and Zack) of Winnemucca, and Lisa (Troy and son Mark) Seaberg of Havre; his brothers, Dennis (Mary)of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Earl Booth of Wisconsin; 11 great-grandchildren; and many great-granddogs.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
