Plenty of good news in Libby

To the editor:

We always hear or read about bad things that happen in our community, but I have “good news,” there are many good people here in Libby.

This past month of February has been very snowy. I have had several people come by and help shovel my driveway of all the snow so I can get my car out to visit my husband each day at the Libby Care Center. One young lady stopped by when she saw me shoveling, and graciously offered to shovel. She came back four more times in February twice bringing her husband. Her husband came back one evening with his church’s youth group and they all shoveled.

Then this week when the snow plow came by and left a big berm at the end of my driveway. I went out to try to shovel it, but it was too heavy for me. Two ladies and a man from my neighborhood all came to help me. I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am for all these “angels.” God is so good!

Also, while I’m on the subject of “thankfulness,” I can not believe how many people in Libby Care Center to volunteer. Some bring greeting cards, others make place cards for the dinner trays, some being flowers for birthdays, singers come from schools, churches and organizations around town. There are musicians who come every week to entertain the residents. The “Pitiful Players” always come to present their plays and the Community Center Entertainers also come to share their musical talent from time to time. Many churches from Libby and Troy have services on a regular basis. There are many more volunteers, the list goes on and on, and for that I am grateful.

Thanks to all of you and may God bless.
