The third annual fundraising yard sale of the Kootenai Kiwanis-Lincoln County Student Stand Down is scheduled for Aug. 1 to Aug. 5 at 38059 Highway 2. All proceeds will be used to buy school supplies.

Donations are being accepted and can be dropped off July 30 and July 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers seek yard sale items — no clothes or books, please — as well as cash, school supplies and gift cards.

The Stand Down is open for all students to be able to come to Asa Wood School at 700 Idaho Ave. in Libby 4 p.m. Aug. 20 to pick out free school supplies.

“The aim is to fill the tables with urgently needed supplies including paper, pencils, notebooks and backpacks,” a news release states. “Head and ear phones are also extremely needed for our students.”

For more information, and to arrange for donations to be picked up or dropped off, call Trina Kerzman at 406-283-1197 or Bri Hilyer at 406-334-3117.
