Hunter ed starts Aug. 1 at county shooting complex

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is holding a hunter education classroom course at the Lincoln County Shooting Complex beginning Aug. 1. Twenty-three of 30 seats remained open Sunday.

Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985, must show a certificate of having completed a hunter education course to buy a Montana hunting license, according to the FWP website. The certificates can be issued by any state or any Canadian province.

Class meets 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14 and 15.

According to the FWP website, registrants must be at least 10 years old and there is no charge to take the course.

Online registration is required at register-ed.com/events/view/126302. Applicants are instructed to print and sign the required forms from the registration page and bring them — as well as something to write with and a highlighter — to the first night of class. A parent or guardian must attend class on Aug. 9.
