Quilt show fills activity center with handiwork

Set up with a camping theme, the Tender Lovin’ Quilters of Troy annual quilt show filled up the Troy Activity Center with exhibits by quilters from all around the area, even Eureka.

Tammy Anderson’s “Honey Bear” quilt, a piece completed with touches of the remnants from the quilt that the guild raffled off this year.

Included in the show were pieces such as “Kootenai Treasures,” a tree skirt made by the Wednesday Nite Quilters from Eureka for the 25-foot Christmas tree that went from the Kootenai National Forest to the Secretary of Agriculture’s office in 2017.

The Tender Lovin’ Quilters of Troy annual quilt show filled up the Troy Activity Center with exhibits by quilters from all around the area, even Eureka.

The Tender Lovin’ Quilters of Troy held their annual show in the Troy Activity Center July 4, showing off quilts from local quilters as well as from around the area.

Best of show went to Tammy Anderson for her piece “You Are My Sunshine,” a quilted pillow for her granddaughter Kimber Anderson inspired by a favorite song that Kimber sings. The piece also won first place in the “accessories” category.

Barbara Taylor was the maker and Kathleen Pierce the quilter for “Moon Glo,” a paper pierced quilt which won both a best of show and first place in the “bed” category.

Anderson also took first place in the “challenge” category with her “Honey Bear” quilt.

Patty Sargent won first place in the “lap” category with her “Icicle Days” hand applique and embroidery piece.

Kathleen Pierce won second place in the “wall” category for her “Fireweed” applique and bling piece.
