Theodore Henry Kessel

Theodore Henry Kessel, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor, departed this earth on Dec. 25, 2017. Ted, 78, resided in Palm Springs, California. He was born on June 11, 1939, to Theodore Kessel and Eunice Kessel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Ted graduated from Libby High School. He earned a doctorate degree in education from Montana State University. He was a school principal in Montana, director of education for Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska, and an education coordinator for the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington for 14 years. Ted spent his last five working years as a mentor to college students at Western Governor’s University.

He is survived by his spouse, Daniel L. Shenefelt, of Palm Springs; his son, Matthew (Melinda) Bolstad, of Anaconda; his sister, Claradell (Bob) Wolz, of Spokane, Washington; cousins Pat Walsh and Kay Olson of Libby; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
