Leroy Lundin passed peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 10, 2017 at the Libby Care Center. Born Robert Leroy Lundin on June 8, 1935 to Robert and Nora Lundin at home in Jacobson, Minnesota, Leroy grew up working on his father’s farm and attended school, which he finished with the eighth grade (as were the times, if you weren’t going to college you entered the work force at a young age to make your way).

Working on farms and ranches in the Minnesota-North Dakota area, Leroy ended up on the farm owned by Oscar Pavola at Gheen, Minnesota. In April, 1952 Leroy married Oscar’s daughter Roberta Jean. They had six children. Leroy owned and operated a truck with self-loader hauling logs in the northern Minnesota area. In 1964 Leroy moved his family to the Libby area, where he continued to log in the Libby area.

Leroy and Roberta divorced in 1966 then after some time Leroy met and married Lorraine Swimley they had a daughter and after 14 years of marriage they divorced in 1980. Leroy then met and married Jo Ann Barhnhart in 1981. They lived together in Troy until moving to the Libby Care Center in 2016 due to health reasons.

Leroy’s favorite things were spending time with his family and friends, camping, hunting and fishing. He also had a keen interest in firearms, reloading and ballistics. He loved to play cribbage with his wife Jo and checkers with anybody.

Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Nora, brother Larry and daughter Roberta “Robin” McMillan and her husband David.

Survivors include his wife Jo Ann; children Kathy Davis, Allen (Sara), Charlette (Michael), Robert (Stephanie), Phillip (Allison) and Linda Lundin; step-children Kim and John; his brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren.
