Saturday Wrestling Libby places 4th behind Frenchtown, Ronan and C-Falls
RONAN — Frenchtown won the 49th Western Montana Duals on Saturday by beating Thompson Falls 55-9, Columbia Falls 39-27 and Ronan 54-14.
Ronan was second, Columbia Falls third and Libby fourth.
The top eight teams from pool action on Friday qualified for the championship round on the final day of wrestling.
The tournament had 18 teams.
Glacier competed in the consolation session on Saturday.
“Today was good to get some AA matches in to help out with our seeding criteria in the postseason,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said.
“We didn’t wrestle up to our expectations in the second dual, but we are hoping it is a learning experience and we can build on it for our two duals coming up this week against Whitefish, which is our youth night (Tuesday), and on Thursday for crosstown (at Flathead).”
