Moira Shannon-Dee Lockamy has the honor of being the first baby born in Lincoln County in 2018. Her parents are Shawn and Sarah Lockamy.

The New Year’s baby was delivered at 2:05 a.m. Monday by Dr. Jana Hall at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. She weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 19.75 inches long.

In a news release, the Lockamy family used scripture to describe their joy: “’For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ He is faithful to his work and our Moira is just one more testimony.”

Moira joins siblings Fallon, Deklan and Finley Lockamy.

“Many community members and businesses contribute to help make the (New Year’s baby) celebration a bit more special,” states the news release. “Along with Cabinet Peaks Medical Center, who provided the new little girl and her parents with an Ergo Baby Child Carrier equipped with a water resistant rain/snow cover and teething pads — and an afghan created and donated by a CPMC employee — other area businesses joined in the celebration.”

Cabinet Peaks Family Medicine donated a Medela Double Breast Pump; Glacier Bank provided a Visa Gift Card; Northwest Community Health Center donated a baby bouncer; and Libby Clinic donated a pack and play.
