CARD Clinic hires new doctor
The Center for Asbestos Related Disease, or CARD Clinic, recently hired a new doctor.
Dr. Kevin Payne began at the clinic in late November, according to a Jan. 2 news release. He is board certified in occupational and environmental medicine and in public health and preventative medicine. Payne holds a master of public health degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences at Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland, where he also did his residency.
Payne fills a vacancy left by the March 2017 departure of Dr. Gregory Loewen.
In addition to providing ongoing care for patients and participating in asbestos health screening, Payne will contribute to the clinic’s research efforts.
Dr. Brad Black, the clinic’s CEO, noted in the press release that “occupational and environmental medicine physicians receive training specific to dust diseases like what we see in Libby.”
