Big Sky Bash acts announced

Heavy metal band Skid Row will headline the CARD Foundation’s 8th Big Sky Bash concert July 14, to benefit the Center for Asbestos Related Disease.

“Power trio” Flathead V8s will open the show, and country music performer Devon Black will close, according to a press release from the foundation.

Formed in 1986, Skid Row debuted with their eponymous album Skid Row in 1989. Some of their better-known songs include “18 and Life,” “Monkey Business,” “I Remember You” and “Youth Gone Wild.”

The foundation press release describes the Flathead V8s as “a classic power trio based out of the Flathead Valley area. Formed in the summer of 2016, they’ve taken the local music scene by storm, bringing their high octane brand of rock and roll to stages all over Montana.”

The Flathead V8 members are: Slaus Brown-Paul on guitar and vocal, Jim Pomper on bass and vocal, and Ric Ohnstad on drums and vocal. The band plays a wide assortment of classic and contemporary covers, as well as original material.

“The Flathead V8s are tight, entertaining, professional, and bring a little something for everyone to every gig,” the press release said.

Devon Wade is an independent country music artist from Sandpoint, Idaho. According to the press release, Wade also enjoys playing rock music from the 1980s and 1990s.

Wade has opened for Jon Pardi, John Michael Montgomery, Sawyer Brown and Kane Brown.

“Devon has become known for his strong country voice coming from such influences as George Strait, Clint Black and Garth Brooks, as well as his lively shows,” the press release said.
