Three apply for vacant seat on Libby City Council
Three Libby men applied to fill the Libby City Council seat left vacant by Angel Ford’s resignation in January.
William M. Holcomb, Hugh Taylor and former City Council member D.C. Orr applied by the 5 p.m. Feb. 12 deadline.
According to their resumes, Holcomb is a substitute teacher for Libby Public Schools and on the staff of Pure North Athletic Club, while Taylor is a master certified technician. Orr is retired and frequently attends city and county government meetings as an active public participant.
City Clerk Audray McCollum on Thursday could not confirm whether the City Council would interview and consider the applicants at the City Council’s meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20, or at a later date.
The City Council’s agenda is usually made available the Friday before the next meeting. It normally meets on the first and third Monday of every month, but will meet Tuesday due to the President’s Day holiday.
