The Troy Fine Arts Council is inviting children of all ages, from kindergarten through 12th grade, to audition Monday, Feb. 5, at the Troy High School auditorium for parts in Alice in Wonderland.

The audition is for a production by the Missoula Children’s Theater, and the performance will take place 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Troy High School Auditorium, according to Tyann Hermes of the Troy Fine Arts Council. Admission is $4 for adults and $1 for students.

Children are asked to arrive no later than 3:40 p.m. Feb. 5, and auditions are expected to run until 5:45 p.m. A rehearsal will immediately follow the auditions. Rehearsals will be held throughout the week leading to the Feb. 10 performance.

Roles to be cast include three different sizes of Alice, her sister Margaret, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts, the King of Hearts, the Knave of Hearts, the Cheshire Cats, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Flower Band, and Cards and Lobsters.

Children of all ages can also audition to be assistant directors, Hermes said. The assistant directors will help with rehearsals and have essential backstage responsibilities.

Props, costumes and makeup will be provided by Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Troy is brought to the area by the Troy Fine Arts Council, with support from Troy Parks and Recreation and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, Hermes said.
