Friends of Scotchman Peaks Wilderness seeks entries for its annual photo contest. Entries are due by Oct. 31.

To be eligible, photos must have been taken since Nov. 1, 2017. Submitters can enter up to six photos, from which FSPW staff will choose one to enter.

Each photo must include a description of where and when it was taken — and, optionally, why it was taken — and be at least 2MB in size and in JPG format.

Organizers prefer photos that were taken from within the wilderness, but will also accept photos taken of the wilderness from outside its boundaries.

Photos can be entered in three ways: posted to instagram.com/friendsofscotchmanpeaks/ and tagged #2018fspwphotocontest; posted on the Scotchman Peaks Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ScotchmanPeaks/) and tagged #2018FSPWPhotoContest; or emailed to sandy@scotchmanpeaks.org.

Submitted photos will be placed in a Facebook album and judged according to how many “likes” are received, with FSPW staff deciding winners in the event of a tie.

First-, second- and third-place finishers will be given a “swag package” that includes an FSPW hat, bandanna and T-shirt.

The Grand Prize winner’s photo will be framed by Ward Tolbom of Hen’s Tooth Studios in Sandpoint, Idaho.
