Libby golf strong at Browning, Whitefish
The Libby High School golf teams competed at the Browning and Whitefish invitationals over the past week, showing improvement and taking top spots at both.
In Whitefish on Wednesday, senior Ryggs Johnston shot a 64 to take the top spot for the boys, with the next three spots tied for a playoff with 76.
Senior Sammee Bradeen led the Lady Loggers at Whitefish, taking second with a 95.
The Loggers placed 6th overall with a team score of 362 at Whitefish, and the Lady Loggers took 5th with 438.
Bradeen’s Wednesday performance follows on her hitting a 93 for second place at East Glacier during the Browning Invitational on Saturday. She was joined in in the top ten at East Glacier by junior Alli Sydney, who placed 6th with a 100, and junior Sydney Croucher, who placed 10th with a 106.
The Lady Loggers placed last overall out of four teams at the Browning Invitational with a 438.
Senior Andrew Freese led the Loggers at East Glacier with an 83, placing second overall. Though Freese was the only Logger in the top ten, the boys team took 5th place among six teams with a 462.
The boys and girls faced a windy day at East Glacier, but continued to show improvement, said Head Coach Dann Rohrer by email. The three Lady Loggers in the top ten have been playing consistent and improving.
“Both teams continue to work hard on their games and again our goal is to get a little better each week,” Rohrer said.
