Montana Highway Patrol on Monday identified a woman killed Aug. 14 in a single-vehicle crash in the Yaak.

Dawn Adamson, 46, of Granite Falls, North Carolina, was driving on Vinal Lake Road when her vehicle “drifted off the left side of the roadway in a right corner” into large trees at about 12:01 a.m., according to a news release provided by Sgt. Neil Duram.

Adamson, who was vacationing in the area and the only person in the vehicle, died as a result of her injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt, and the vehicle’s airbags did deploy.

Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash, pending the result of blood tests.
