Juanita F. Rice

Juanita F. Rice, 79, of Libby passed away Aug. 10, 2018, at her home in Libby of natural causes. She was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota. At an early age, she moved to Roundup, where she attended school, graduating from Roundup High School as salutatorian of her class. She then received her associates degree from Parks Business School in Denver, Colorado. In 1966, Juanita moved to Alaska where she lived for 19 years. She returned to Montana in 1985 and lived in Helena until she moved to Libby in 1991. While in Libby, she worked at Ben Franklin.

Juanita loved needle work and provided many treasured handmade gifts to family and friends. She also enjoyed baking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant Shope and Dorothy and Burl Rice.

Survivors include her brother, James Shope, and sisters Saundra Rux, Linda Thompson and Donna Odell.

Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home & Crematory of Libby. Memorials may be made to the National Humane Society or ASPCA.
