Libby track: girls take 2nd, boys 3rd at Glacier Cinco
The work put in throughout the season was on display from several Loggers and Lady Loggers at Glacier High School in Kalispell Thursday.
Senior Shannon Reny took first place in shot put with a personal record of 36 feet, 11 inches, while also placing fourth in both discus (82-03) and with a personal record in javelin (107-09).
Junior Emma Gruber and Senior Emily Mossburg added to their track accomplishments. Gruber won both the 100m hurdles (17.33) and 300m hurdles (50.32), with a season record in the latter. Mossburg won the 100m dash in 13.63 seconds.
Senior Sidney Stevenson won the 400m dash with a season record time of 1:02.23. Up-and-coming freshman Olivia Gilliam-Smith placed second in the 200m dash in a personal record 29.06 seconds, tying for fifth in the 400m dash (1:06.28) and placing third in the long jump (14-01).
Among the boys, sophomore Keith Johnson and senior Gaven Strom tied for first place in the high jump at 5 feet, 7 inches. Teammate junior Colten Clemons followed in third place with 5 feet, 5 inches.
By time differences too close for a human eye to see, freshman Jay Beagle took third place in both the 100m and 200m dashes.
Beagle finished the 100m dash in 11.9 seconds, with the first and second place finishers -- Danny Anderson and Adam Bartlett of Glacier -- recorded at 11.86 and 11.87 seconds.
In the 200m dash, Anderson and Bartlett tied for first with 23.8 seconds, and Beagle was recorded at 23.81 seconds, which was a personal record.
Beagle also had a personal record in the javelin with 130 feet, 11 inches, taking tenth place.
