Long-standing trees felled for safety

A crew with Thompson Contracting of Libby trims limbs and branches from one of four trees the company was removing from between Libby Police Department and Timberline Auto Center Thursday. “We had a tree fall a year or so ago on the back of the Fire Hall that did some damage,” City Administrator Jim Hammons explained via email Thursday. “The other trees are getting bigger and becoming a potential safety issue.
